1st Customer Review : Chrysler Wireless Key and Remote
Bought one for our 2008 Chrysler and it works great, but watch it!
I had three (yes 3) Chrysler dealers tell me that THEY have to program
a key for you. Of course, they want about $ 140 to sell you a new key.
I guess that they forgot to tell their partsman that you can do it yourself.
The book that comes with the car tells you exactly how to program a new
key. It takes about 45 seconds to do it. BUT, you do have to have
2 original keys to do it. I believe each key is electronically numbered
1 and 2, etc. As I recall, the book said you can have up to 8 keys. I don't
know if, for example you had key 1 and 4, you could then program a number
5 key or if you HAVE to have keys 1 and 2. You'd just have to try it and see.

I purchased a 2008 Chrysler 300 and my entire keyfob is what starts my car. I began having problems with my keys starting and unlocking my car. I called the Chrysler dealer and they quoted me a price of $200.00 just for the key fobs plus an additional $100.00 to program them. I went online to Amazon and found the same exact key sold by Discount Keys 2008 08 Chrysler 300 Remote & Key Combo - 5 Buttonfor $53.39. That saved me over $100.00. I love Amazon and I'm sadden that they may discontinue shipping to California if the state imposes state sale taxes. Bummer!!
